Let's say I have a group of people who would like to learn how to play chess.
How would you 'teach' them?

Now please explain to me what is so vastly different about chess compared to language learning.
Hopefully part of your explanation will help me sort out why one of these activities ostensibly requires a coursebook, while the other doesn't.
