I recently went through several piles of my son's drawings and scrap paper and made a quick list of the words and sentences he's been writing - at first with assistance from me with spelling, but now pretty much on his own.
You can see the little corpus generated above through a Wordle.
What are you looking at here?
Phrases he's become obsessed with writing based on playing the Daytona car racing game whenever we go to the shopping centre, and the signs he has seen around the entrances to his kindergarten.
Hence, everything from "Check Point", "Starting Line" and "Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!" to "Stairs", "Fire Door" and "Private: Keep Out".
It was interesting to put these phrases in a Wordle, so that they were broken up and scattered about. He now has fun reading aloud each of the phrasey chunks he's memorised by scouting about the Wordle and finding each separate word in turn.
In a word: FASCINATING!
