Touchable Dreams, a seamless fusion of poetry and music from Steve Bingham and Jeremy Harmer, is now available on CD!
Most readers of this blog would already be (very) familiar with the name Jeremy Harmer. He has, of course, been one of the most significant contributors of resources, guidance and encouragement to teachers of English as a Foreign Language all over the world.
Well, Jeremy is also a lover of music and poetry, and for a while now he has been teaming up with the enormously talented Steve Bingham to perform a unique blending of poetry and music which they - for want of any particular word for this 'genre' I can think of - call "Touchable Dreams".
I was fortunate enough to tune in to an interview Jeremy and Steve did with a local radio station in Cambridge some time ago, and it included a live performance of sorts which totally mesmerised me... Being a lover of all kinds of music and to some extent poetry as well, I found the claim "The words frame the music, the music illuminates the words. And when they happen together, the effect is spellbinding..." not only true, but also something of a vast understatement!
So, unsurprisingly, I was delighted and excited when I found out that Steve and Jeremy had finally managed to get a set of recordings onto CD, titled "Touchable Dreams" (find out about the release here). Even better: the CD is very reasonably priced and is available for shipping worldwide!
You can hear the title track "Touchable Dreams" on the main CD store/promo page - definitely worth a listen.
I've purchased three limited editions of the CD (also incredibly reasonably priced) - one for us and two for some relatives I know will love them - and can't wait for them to arrive!
Great work Steve and Jeremy, and congratulations on a really fantastic and innovative work of art.
On a closing note, check out this fantastic video of Steve performing his version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Wonderful stuff!
