More recently, fellow Melburnian Mark Fox from The Teacher's Hub also put me on to this little rant from a young fellow arguing his case that education as we know it is becoming redundant, because access to information is basically becoming free and universal. He's an annoying chap in some ways, but he does make some very good points!
There is also some resonance here with Bill Gates' recent prediction that - within 5 years - the web will be able to provide anyone with all the education they need, and universities will no longer be necessary...
