Most reading textbooks out there tend to pre-teach vocabulary before exposing students to the reading text in which they are to feature. Personally, I prefer to do some vocabulary focus and development following the main reading text.
Take a look at my very first Screenjelly effort to find out why (it's brief - Screenjelly has a 3 minute recording limit, and I thought it would make a nice change for blog visitors fed up with my long-winded approach to most things!).
What's your opinion? Do you prefer to feature isolated vocabulary items before a reading passage is tackled, or return to them for some focus once the reading has been completed?
